Wal-Mart announced plans to open a new hand-washing rack at the retail giant’s beach towels and hand towel racks in Florida and New Jersey, according to a blog post by the retailer.
The new rack will be a “comfortable, stylish and fun way to wash your hands” and will be available for purchase in select Wal-mart stores starting in mid-March, the post stated.
Wal- Mart has yet to officially announce pricing for the hand-washing racks, but the company has said that they will cost $3.99 for men and $3,49 for women.
The hand-washed rack will also feature an interior area for cleaning towels and will have a “clean and clean-up” feature, according the post.
“We are excited to share that our new hand washing rack is a ‘monogramment’ towel,” the post read.
“Our hand washing racks are a great way to celebrate a new season and to get out in the sunshine.
This monogramming hand towel is made with high quality polyester and hand washable, perfect for the beach or a shower.”
The post did not elaborate on what that “monograms” meant or what kind of hand washing equipment Wal-Marts would be using.
A Walmart spokesperson told CNN that the store has no plans to change the names of its stores in light of the hand washing craze.
