In a bid to get the last remaining paper towel in the house, a mother of two from the UK decided to take it to Amazon for the bargain price of just £1.95.
She spent a month on the hunt, but was so desperate to get her hands on one that she even spent £3.00 on the cheapest paper towel available on Amazon.
“It’s been a long journey,” said the mother, whose name has been changed to protect her privacy.
“I’m a real DIY kind of gal, so I wanted to be as creative as possible and try and find the cheapest option that I could find.”
She bought a packet of cheap paper towels from a shop for £3, and spent the next month using them to wash her hair and wipe the floor.
When the paper towels arrived at the end of the month, the mother found they were completely dry and could not be reused.
“My hair was all shiny, my nails were all shiny and my nails didn’t stick,” she said.
“That was the biggest shock.”
The mother decided to put the towel in a bag and return it to the shop, where it would be put into a special box.
The next day she used the bag to vacuum the house and was amazed to discover that the paper towel was still in the box, along with the plastic box containing the towels.
“The whole time I thought, ‘this is it.
This is the last one,'” she said, adding that she spent the night cleaning and washing the house.
“A towel in your hand is probably the best gift you could give yourself.”
